Andrei Krioutchenko

Honors Graduate, St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, Russia

Andrei Krioutchenko was born in 1955 and raised in the city of Tashkent in Uzbekistan. There, he developed creative skills at a very early age and was soon encouraged to move to the cultural center of St. Petersburg, for centuries a gathering point for artists from all over Russia.

In St. Petersburg, exposed to some of the finest art and artists in the country, he refined his skills further and was admitted to the Academy of Arts, once known as the Imperial Academy of Art founded by Catherine the Great. He graduated in 1979 with honors in art and architecture.

During the decade that followed graduation, he employed his creative talent as an architect and designer as well as an artist. But, when he moved to the West in 1989 his life changed.

Living in France, he became a full-time artist and began to gain stature as a distinguished painter exhibiting his work in galleries in London and Paris. Collectors soon noticed his brilliant ability to capture light and shadow, a modern interpretation of the style of the old master impressionists.

His works have been shown in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Paris, London and San Francisco. In 2009, the artist’s rendering of The Harbor at St. Tropez entered the permanent collection of The World Ocean Museum, Kaliningrad, Russia.
